"A great blues voice with lots of emotion and heart. She can belt out a tune and makes the blues come alive. Her pipes are strong and her delivery is authentic. If you enjoy the blues, keep Gretchen on your short list of performers to see."

Gretchen Emery has been a fixture on the Delaware/Philly music scene over the course of the last decade.  She had early classical training in piano, flute, and voice and was later transformed by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, Janis Joplin, and Susan Tedeschi.  Before forming Dirty Boots, Gretchen performed in local bands English Garden, The Condors, and Red House at local Tri-State area clubs such as WarmDaddy's and The Stone Balloon.  In recent years, Gretchen Emery and Dirty Boots have performed at the Wilmington Riverfront Blues Festival, Delaware's Annual June Jam, the Fort Hunter Music and Wine Festival, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Hershey Hill Climb, and various benefit concerts including events for the Diamond State Blues Society, Delaware Boots on the Ground, and Practice Without Pressure.

Gretchen Emery has made cameo appearances with or opened for Lowrider Band, Savoy Brown, Johnny Neel, Michael Hill's Blues Mob, Victor Wainwright, Sam Cockrell, and Dana Fuchs.

This fiery red-head sings both soft and sultry ballads and powerful, get-up-and-dance blues with a passion for music that runs deep in her soul.
Her band, Dirty Boots creates a musical collage of Blues, Rock, and Soul while blending Memphis power blues with passion and vitality. Whether you get up and dance or find yourself lost in a sultry oasis, Gretchen Emery & Dirty Boots is sure to leave you wanting more.
